Confusion - Pōnānātanga

The taniwha carved from New Zealand pounamu with a paua eye is open and vulnerable.  It sits on a pounamu mount on Kaiawa river stone carved with entwined koru. The stone is inset with a cross of pounamu beads which together with the taniwha symbolises confusion within the family and yet offers strong direction.

Kaiawa – Food from rivers and streams.

Koru – Symbolises the unfurled sliver fern leaf, depicting new beginnings, growth and harmony. It represents nurturing and when entwined with others, embodies the strength and purity of loving family relationships.

Taniwha – Mythical creature said to live in the oceans and inland waters of New Zealand. It represents protector and guardian of kinsmen and family.
