The taniwha carved from New Zealand pounamu sits on a deeply carved upright Kaiawa river stone with a woven natural flax base. The taniwha has an open ear for absorbing knowledge and having journeyed long and hard, sits proudly passing this knowledge to family.

Kaiawa – Food from rivers and streams.

Koru – Symbolises the unfurled sliver fern leaf, depicting new beginnings, growth and harmony. It represents nurturing and when entwined with others, embodies the strength and purity of loving family relationships.
