Success - Tutuki Pai
Kaiawa river stone carved with entwined koru are mounted one over another by deer horn bound with hemp and sit on a hemp base. The placement of the stones symbolise the growth in success of the family while being protected by the taniwha carved from New Zealand pounamu and placed in front of the stones. Prosperity, good luck and safety travelling is offered by the hei matau carved from New Zealand pounamu and set atop the piece.
Kaiawa – Food from rivers and streams.
Koru – Symbolises the unfurled sliver fern leaf, depicting new beginnings, growth and harmony. It represents nurturing and when entwined with others, embodies the strength and purity of loving family relationships.
Taniwha – Mythical creature said to live in the oceans and inland waters of New Zealand. It represents protector and guardian of kinsmen and family.
Hei Matau – Fishhook, represents strength, peace, prosperity, good luck and safety travelling over water.
